Online Vintage For Spring

It’s pretty safe to say that summer is on its way and with it, comes a whole new bundle of fashion trends and colour palates to work with and a whole new lot of competition to contend with to get that perfect outfit. There’s something about the sun that makes people come out of their homes in droves but instead of going to the park or the beach, they all cram into the shopping centre which makes hunting for the new summer essential that bit more difficult! Worry not though; we at Tŷ Hafan have made life just a bit easier for you and listed some stunning summer key pieces on our eBay page so you can bag some gorgeous bits and pieces for bargain prices without leaving the comfort of your home (or sun lounger in the garden)! There’s something for every style there but we thought we’d show you some of our favourite summer items and how you can get your hands on them!

Pretty in pink

Trend 1: Pretty in Pastel!

To misquote one of my favourite films, ‘Pastels? For spring? Ground-breaking.’ Lilacs, mint greens, lemon and baby pink,we all know they’re coming so it’s time to embrace them! These colours give off a soft, subtle vibe that encompasses spring and makes everyone feel that bit lighter and fresher after the months of wearing heavy jumpers and stifling denim. You can pick one specific colour to work with or if you’re feeling adventurous, why not combine a few? Pop a baby pink jacket on top of a sky blue shirt and you immediately see that pastels always complement each other. Talking of baby pink jackets, we currently love this gorgeous little baby pink Viyella jacket! It’s the perfect thing to welcome in spring whilst also keeping you warm in those last few winter winds. Its structure makes it the ultimate item to bring a bit of spring into the office but worn with jeans and heels, it becomes the go-to piece for drinks with the girls!

Trend 2: Go Bold!

Maybe it’s the current heat and the promise of more to come but I find myself reaching for the brighter items in my wardrobe.  Cherry red, electric blue or a sunny yellow, these colours immediately perk you up and make you excited for things to come: festivals, days at the beach or flying off for a week of fun in the sun! Pair with white accessories for ultimate summer vibes or black if you just want to bring a splash of colour to work.  We’re thinking long skirts and floaty dresses to give off a sunny vibe with a vintage twist which is why this vintage Alexon red skirt is one of our top picks! Worn with sandals and a white Bardot top, it’s ready for a stroll along with French Riviera – very Audrey Hepburn! Paired with a black top and heels, it becomes office chic!

Trend 3 : High Seas Style!

We all love a bit of the seaside in summer! The beach means only 3 things in summer:  Hot sand, cold ice cream and of course fabulous nautical fashion! I think it’s my love of navy that keeps me going back to this trend because it lets me wear one of my favourite winter colours in a different, summery way. Stripy tops, loose trousers and espadrilles: the ultimate seafront outfit and the colours give off a subtle holiday vibe without being overly complicated! It’s clean and simple which is why I love it. Something else which is clean, simple and has captured my attention is this lovely little Mansfield jacket! The contrast between the cream jacket and the navy belt is just beautiful and looks like something out of a 1950 seaside editorial.

Trend 4: English Countryside Chic!

Maybe the beach isn’t your scene; perhaps you prefer roaming the fields and exploring the countryside! Fab, cause that means you get to explore a whole new fashion trend: Countryside chic! Think neutral colours in quintessential English patterns; plaid, tartan, and the list is endless. You can wear it while picnicking in a field, discovering country manors and generally living out that Jane Austen dream life. However it isn’t regency England anymore and fashion has changed. You don’t have to wear a gown when you’re walking down the country paths, you can wear trousers! These trousers particularly fit this trend to a t with their mix of cool traditional colours and their flattering shape. Wear them with a graphic tee and some brown leather brogues to give off some serious country vibes!
