Something as seemingly basic as a ten-minute hand massage can have a profound effect on a child, and for a family member to be able to step away and focus on themselves for forty-five minutes whether it be reflexology or an aromatherapy massage is an opportunity that they cannot normally take advantage of. Each session is adapted to meet the needs of the person receiving the treatment. One day it could be stress relief, the next focusing on symptom management and another on introducing touch to a child who has never experienced it outside of a medical context.
